Kalshi’s Tuesday Baseball Slate Leans Harder Toward the Favorites

Major League Baseball: the busiest game contract on Kalshi is the Los Angeles Dodgers at 69% (+5) to beat the Cincinnati Reds tonight, first pitch 6:40pm ET, on 105,126 contracts. The rest of the early window firmed the same way over the past day: Milwaukee to 68% (+5) over Pittsburgh, Philadelphia to 66% (+4) over Washington, Cleveland to 58% (+4) over the White Sox, all starting between 6:40 and 6:45pm ET. No sportsbook line matched any of these games in our book check, so we read the numbers as the market’s own and claim no gap.

Kalshi prices the Mets at 55% against Baltimore tonight at 7:10pm ET; Syracuse.com’s Tuesday preview covers the Polymarket side of the same game.

POLITICS

Wisconsin Proposal Would Bar Public Officials From Prediction Markets

US politics: the Wisconsin Examiner reports a proposal from Crowley to ban stock trading and prediction-market participation by public officials, the latest state-level attempt to draw a line around who may bet on outcomes they can influence. It lands alongside Yahoo Finance’s report, drawn from FOIA records, that the CFTC quietly opened three Polymarket insider-trading probes. We have the headlines, not the texts, but the direction is plain enough: scrutiny of who trades these markets is rising into the midterm stretch.

Polymarket prices Democrats to control the House after the midterms at 88% (+1), resolving Nov. 2; the YND Elections Desk Heat index sits at 0.7 points (−0.8 day over day).

WORLD

Prediction Market Traders See Gas Prices Hitting New Highs for the Year

Energy and geopolitics: CNBC reports that prediction-market traders now expect US gas prices to set new highs for the year. The geopolitical leg of the same trade hasn’t budged: Polymarket prices Strait of Hormuz traffic returning to normal by Dec. 31 at just 18% (+1), a contract that resolves Dec. 30. Elsewhere on the world board, Putin out as president of Russia by year-end sits at 5% (−1), and United Russia gaining the most seats in the next parliamentary election at 77% (−2), resolving Sept. 29.

ECON

Fed Expected to Raise Rates Wednesday, the First Hike Under Warsh

US economy: the Federal Open Market Committee opened its two-day meeting today, with the decision and the dot plot due tomorrow, Wednesday, at 2pm ET. A Reuters poll found 85% of economists expecting a quarter-point hike from the current 3.50–3.75% target range — the first under Chair Warsh, per Reuters. The market is more certain than the economists: Polymarket prices a 25-basis-point increase at 87% (+5) and no change at 13% (−5) on $6.1M traded, and Kalshi’s mirror of the same decision, the funds rate above 3.75%, sits at 86% (+6). The bigger question is whether Wednesday reads as a single adjustment or the start of a cycle: the “Fed rate hike in 2026” contract sits at 94% (+5), and October’s 25bp-hike leg at 37% against 61% for no change.

The YND Fed Cut Odds index stands at 2.5%, up 0.5 point day over day.

Parlays Push Kalshi to Back-to-Back Volume Records as Football Opens

Prediction-market industry: The Event Horizon reports that Kalshi set back-to-back volume records to open the football season, powered by parlays. The Super Bowl board is where the open interest lives — Dallas at 3% with 6.3M contracts outstanding, the Rams at 12% with 6.0M, San Francisco at 8% with 5.2M — and Kansas City’s 7% (+2) leg alone turned over 716,490 contracts in a day. The other side of the growth story is arriving on schedule: a trade association has urged the SEC and CFTC to bolster prediction-market safeguards, per The TRADE.

03 Biggest Movers
1

Clarity Act signed into law in 2026 — 16% (−11)

Polymarket · $1.2M traded

The Clarity Act is the crypto market-structure bill in Congress, and its odds of becoming law this year gave back the prior day’s surge in a single session. CoinDesk’s read is that even after the surge the bill “still faces a long road.” Bitcoin moved with it: the coin opened near $78,181 and slid to about $77,000, dragging the noon “above $78,000” contract to 6% (−50.4). For non-traders: crypto’s price is still partly a bet on Washington, and Washington just got harder to bet on.

NFL: Chiefs to win the Super Bowl — 7% (+2) on Kalshi, 8.5% (+3.5) on Polymarket

Kalshi · 716K contracts · Polymarket · $84K traded

Monday night’s Broncos-Chiefs game produced the biggest single tape of the day: by 11:22pm ET Monday one account was unloading $4.8M of Chiefs at 99.9% on Polymarket’s game market, after buying in at 55–56% earlier in the evening. Over the past day the Chiefs’ Super Bowl odds climbed on both venues, and Denver’s championship price slipped to 2.5% (−1.8). A 99.9% print is a probability, not a scoreline, and our data hasn’t marked the game settled — but the futures market moved as if it knows. Read it plainly: the market now calls the Chiefs a live contender, not the favorite (the Rams lead Kalshi’s board at 12%), and 716,000 contracts made this Kalshi’s busiest market of the day.

Friedrich Merz out as German chancellor before 2027 — 24% (+6)

Polymarket · $120K traded

German politics: the contract asking whether Chancellor Friedrich Merz loses the job before New Year’s now trades near one in four, up six points in a day. We can point to no catalyst. The YND Politics Desk Heat index rose to 2.3 points (+1.2 day over day), so this isn’t the only political market stirring. The market resolves Dec. 31, but a question like this could settle any day.

La Liga: Alavés vs Valencia today — Alavés 58% (+6)

Polymarket · $514K traded · Kalshi · 117K contracts

Spanish top-flight soccer this afternoon: Deportivo Alavés face Valencia, and the market moved six points toward Alavés over the past day, to 58%. Kalshi’s mirror sits at 56%, with Valencia priced at just 18% there. Half a million dollars on a Tuesday La Liga fixture is real interest, but we have no lineup news to explain the extra confidence in Alavés.

MLB: Brewers-Pirates tonight — Milwaukee 68% (+5), Pittsburgh 33% (−7)

Kalshi · 136K contracts

Baseball, 6:40pm ET: the Milwaukee Brewers play the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the market swung toward Milwaukee since yesterday with no injury or pitching news we can cite. Two-in-three odds is a strong favorite for a September night game, and several favorites on Kalshi’s Tuesday slate firmed the same way: Dodgers 69% (+5), Phillies 66% (+4), Guardians 58% (+4).

04 Futures

Today’s long-dated board is a Fed curve we’ve already spent, a Super Bowl market Monday night repriced, and a House race with nothing to check it against. No trade.

Why now: the Fed decides tomorrow, and most of the far-out money on the board is a Fed market in costume.

Eighteen long-dated markets made today’s pool. Four round to zero. Three are Fed legs this paper has already pitched, and the Strait of Hormuz reopening at 18% and Putin out of office at 5% are likewise old ground. Three more — the Clarity Act at 16% (−11), Merz out at 24% (+6), the Chiefs at 8.5% (+3.5) — are today’s Movers. That leaves six: Democrats holding the House at 88% (+1), resolving Nov 2, 48 days out; Bitcoin reaching $85,000 by Dec 31 at 63% (−3); Mitch McConnell stepping down from the Senate at 12% (−5); the Denver Broncos winning the Super Bowl at 2.5% (−1.8), against Kalshi’s 5%; Ted Cruz winning the 2028 Republican nomination at 1.8%; and the 2026 Balance of Power (D Senate, D House) at 52%.

Start with the House. Democrats at 88% have one sibling market to test against: Democrats taking the Senate and the House together at 52%. By our arithmetic that implies roughly a 59% Senate chance if they hold the House. No Senate-alone market sits in the digest, so the check stops one step short of an estimate. Bitcoin needs a gain of roughly 10% from Tuesday’s ~$77,000 to reach $85,000 by year-end, and nothing in front of us says 63% is wrong. The best case for acting is Denver. The 21 Kalshi Super Bowl rows already sum to 99% with eleven teams uncounted, so Kalshi’s 5% on the Broncos carries padding and Polymarket’s 2.5% is the honest number. But that price fell (−1.8) over the past day, with Monday night’s Broncos-Chiefs game market trading at 99.9% Chiefs late Monday, and its Chiefs sibling is already today’s mover — one event, one pitch. We’re wrong if a Senate-alone leg lists, or if the Denver gap survives the week.

Bottom line: NO TRADE — nothing on the long-dated board clears the bar today; the House–Senate pair at 88% and 52% is first in line once a Senate leg gives the arithmetic a third number.

WATCH · LIVERPOOL VS. TOTTENHAM — LIVERPOOL WIN · YES @ 55% · POLYMARKET · Today 3:00pm ET

English soccer’s headline game of the day. The market makes Liverpool 55% on $158K traded, barely moved (+1) in 24 hours. There is no sportsbook line in the digest to check against, so we claim no gap.
