Gaza Ceasefire Marks One Year, “In Name Only”

One year after the Gaza ceasefire took effect, aid groups say it exists “in name only” amid near-daily Israeli strikes, and the next stages of the deal remain uncertain. Al Jazeera reports eight killed, including a child, on the anniversary. The regional-risk contracts a bettor can actually hold are the Iran ceasefires, and they are priced as if the truces hold.

No market settles on the Gaza ceasefire itself. The related Iran markets barely moved: the US–Iran ceasefire holding through October 31 is at 78% (+2), the contract on the U.S. invading Iran before 2027 is at 16%, and the Israel–Iran ceasefire holding through October 15 is at 96.1%.

Kalshi Scrutinizes Bets That Called the Press Secretary Pick

CNN reports Kalshi is scrutinizing long-shot bets that correctly predicted President Trump’s next press secretary, and The Hill says the exchange is investigating suspicious bets tied to the pick. For anyone holding political positions, who knows what and when is the whole game, and a venue policing it is the story to watch.

The busiest political contract on the board is the House: Democrats are priced at 91% to control it after the midterms, Republicans at 10%; both settle November 3, 23 days out.

WEATHER

NWS Puts New York’s High at 63°; the Under-62 Bracket Is Priced at 66%

Our radar flagged the New York (Central Park) high-temperature market for today, which settles tomorrow: the National Weather Service forecasts a high of 63°F, with a forecast error of about 1.4°F at this lead time, yet the bracket paying out if the high stays below 62° is priced at 66%. The same screen shows Denver’s forecast at 81°F against an 80–81° bracket, and Miami’s at 91°F against a 91–92° bracket. These are radar flags, not settled views.

Miami’s high temperature for Oct 11 is priced at 72% to land at 91-92°; New York’s under-62° bracket sits at 66%. Both settle tomorrow.

Jaguars–Eagles in London Tops the Day’s Board

The NFL’s Sunday features Jacksonville against Philadelphia in London — the game Kalshi’s promo is built around — and it is the day’s busiest market by a wide margin, with 4.84 million contracts traded. Kalshi prices the Jaguars at 77% to win and Philadelphia at 23%. The spread market has Jacksonville winning by more than 7.5 points as a coin flip at 50%, and by more than 14.5 at 28%.

No sportsbook line matched this game in our slate, so Kalshi is the only price: the Jaguars at 77% to beat Philadelphia, and the over on 41.5 total points at 51%.

SEC Title Market Flips: Georgia Up 12, Texas Down 11

College football’s Saturday repriced the SEC. Georgia’s odds of winning the conference jumped 12 points to 47%, Texas fell 11 to 12%, and Alabama eased 3 to 21%. Polymarket’s whale tape shows a $218K buy on Georgia at 46% in Saturday’s Georgia–Alabama game, a $122K buy on Missouri at 62% against Texas A&M, and $304K on Utah at 99.5% against Kansas late Saturday. No resolutions on those games had reached our feed by this morning, so the prices, not the scoreboard, are the read.

Georgia’s odds of winning the SEC rose to 47% (Δ+12pts). Texas’s fell to 12% (Δ-11pts). Alabama’s national-championship odds sit at 8% (Δ-3pts).

03 Biggest Movers
1

Heisman Trophy: Jeremiah Smith — 60% (+13); Keelon Russell 5% (−7)

Kalshi · 72,745 contracts

The Heisman Trophy, college football’s top individual award, repriced over the past 24 hours. Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith climbed 13 points to 60%; Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell slid 7 to 5%; Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton rose 4 to 8%. The moves line up with the team markets: Ohio State jumped 14 points to 59% to win the Big Ten, Georgia rose 12 to 47% to win the SEC, and Alabama slipped 3 to 21% in the same market. A receiver as the clear favorite for an award that usually goes to a quarterback is the story, and every remaining Saturday can rewrite it.

SEC championship: Georgia — 47% (+12); Texas 12% (−11)

Kalshi · 8,014 contracts across both legs

College football’s SEC title race flipped in a day. Georgia’s odds of winning the SEC jumped 12 points to 47%, Alabama’s eased 3 to 21%, and Texas fell 11 to 12%. On Polymarket, one account put $218K on Georgia at 46% in Saturday’s Georgia–Alabama game; no resolution on that game had reached our feed by this morning. Georgia is now the only team the market puts anywhere near even money. Alabama’s national-title price slipped 3 points to 8% as well.

Benjamin Netanyahu leads Israel’s next government — 33% (−3)

Polymarket · $212K traded

Israeli politics: the market on who leads Israel after its next election marked Benjamin Netanyahu down 3 points to 33% over the past 24 hours. The contract settles Oct. 27, 16 days out, so the market calls Netanyahu a clear underdog to head the next government on a short clock. A firm election date or fresh polling is what would move it next.

NFL, AFC North: Cincinnati Bengals win the division — 29% (+4)

Kalshi · 57,069 contracts

The NFL’s AFC North has a leader but no owner. Over the past day Cincinnati rose 4 points to 29% to win the division, Cleveland slipped 2 to 10%, and Baltimore still leads at 57% (−1). All three play today: the Bengals are 76% to beat Miami, the Browns 44% against the Jets, and the Ravens are a 39% underdog against Atlanta. By this evening these prices will know a lot more.

Harry Kane for the 2026 Ballon d’Or at 65.7%? Not yet.

A six-point jump deserves a reason before it deserves a bet.

Soccer’s player-of-the-year award: the market prices Harry Kane at 65.7% (+5.8) in 24 hours. Lionel Messi sits at 2.5%, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at 0.3%. Resolves Dec 31, 81 days out.

No public catalyst explains the six-point jump. Nothing was decided in the past 24 hours; the market does not settle until Dec 31, and a price that moves this much without news is a price moving on itself.

The listed field also leaves a hole. Kane, Messi and Kvaratskhelia between them account for roughly two-thirds of the probability, and nobody we can point to holds the rest. We would look again if a rival is listed high enough that the field’s arithmetic starts to disagree with itself.

Our read: at 65.7% you pay about 66 cents for a share that returns a dollar only if the voters agree with the market, and nothing if they don’t. That is a bet on momentum, not evidence, and we don’t pay for momentum.

Bottom line: NO TRADE on Kane at 65.7% — the question stays open until Dec 31.
05 The Slip

Today’s markets deciding — a side, a price, a time. Trade idea means a documented edge; price to watch means a stated price would change our mind; watch means worth reading, no edge claimed. All markets open at send.

WATCH · RAIDERS VS PATRIOTS — NEW ENGLAND WIN · YES @ 63% · KALSHI
Today

NFL: with 2.68 million contracts traded, this is the day’s second-busiest game. New England is 63% to win and 49% to win by more than 3.5 points — the market expects a game decided by a field goal. The Patriots are 29% to win the AFC East.

WATCH · 49ERS VS SEAHAWKS — SEATTLE WIN · YES @ 62% · KALSHI
Today

NFL: Seattle is 62% to win today and 46% to win by more than 3.5 points; the over on 46.5 total points sits at 49%. The NFC West division market still has San Francisco ahead, at 44% to Seattle’s 29%.

WATCH · PACKERS VS BEARS — CHICAGO WIN · YES @ 53% · KALSHI
Today

NFL: of the day’s four busiest games, this is the closest to a coin flip. Chicago is 53%, Green Bay 48%, and the Bears are 48% to win by more than 1.5 points. The division stakes are lopsided: Chicago is 30% to win the NFC North, Green Bay 6%.

WATCH · DODGERS VS BREWERS — MILWAUKEE WIN · YES @ 51% · KALSHI
Today

Baseball: today’s Dodgers–Brewers game is priced dead even, Milwaukee 51% and Los Angeles 50%, on 622,000 contracts traded — the busiest non-football market today. Tomorrow’s rematch is already listed with the Dodgers at 53%.

WATCH · PRESIDENTS CUP — TEAM USA WIN · YES @ 43% · KALSHI
Settles today

Golf: the Presidents Cup market, the United States against an international team, settles today. Team USA is priced at 43% to win and a tie at 9%, on 316,898 contracts traded, which makes the international side the favorite as the market heads into settlement.

06 Biggest Trades

The biggest individual trades of the last 24 hours — who put money down, how much, and how it went.

BIG BET burrito338 $141K Democrats control the House after the 2026 midterms (resolves Nov 3) YES @ 91% On Saturday evening this account bought YES at 91% on Democrats winning the House in November. Each $1 returns about $1.10 if they do, and nothing if they don’t.
BIG BET 0x2c33…0563 $304K College football: Kansas vs. Utah, Saturday · Polymarket Utah @ 99.5% Bought Utah late Saturday night at 99.5%: each $1 pays about $1.005 if Utah wins, and the whole stake if not. Not yet settled.
BIG BET Kch-Temp $164K College football: Ole Miss vs. Vanderbilt, Saturday · Polymarket Ole Miss @ 76% Backed Ole Miss Saturday afternoon at 76%, so each $1 returns about $1.32 if Ole Miss wins. The market has not settled.
HEAVY VOLUME MLB: Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers, today · Kalshi 372K contracts (24h) MLB: Milwaukee Brewers vs. Los Angeles Dodgers, today · Kalshi Milwaukee 51%, Dodgers 50%: a coin flip drawing more money than any other baseball market. Game is today; nothing has been played yet.

The night’s most expensive near-certainty: $304K bought Utah at 99.5% in Kansas–Utah late Saturday. That risks $304K to make roughly $1,500, and losing shares pay nothing.

07 The Longshot

UCLA winning the college football national title is priced at 1%. 431,093 contracts traded on it in a day.

Only Notre Dame drew more trading in the championship market. The price moved one point.

College football’s national championship market has a strange new busiest corner: UCLA, priced at 1% (+1) to be crowned champion when the contract settles on Feb 22. 431,093 contracts changed hands in 24 hours, the second-highest total of any Kalshi market yesterday, behind only Notre Dame at 15% in the same championship market. Open interest — the contracts still held rather than closed out — stands at 431,093, the same figure. Whatever happened on the field Saturday, our feed carries no result for it this morning; what it carries is the price.

To pay out, UCLA has to win the national championship game, not merely reach it. The market’s own cross-check fits: UCLA is priced at 8% (+4) to win the Big Ten, and a 1% national price under an 8% conference price is internally coherent. Our read: the odds are the information, and the volume is the entertainment. A full day’s trading equal to every open contract is a lot of activity for a 1% outcome, but activity is not evidence that anyone knows something, and a share that pays $1 on a title pays nothing on anything else. ↗
