Iran Blockade Market Slips While Saudi Pipeline Contract Nears Certainty

Middle East: the Polymarket contract on whether the United States announces an end to the Iranian blockade by Oct. 15 slipped 3 points over the past day to 13%, with nine days to run and $326K traded. Across the Red Sea, the picture is calmer: Saudi Arabia restarted operations on its East-West Pipeline in late September after a September 11 shutdown caused by drone attacks, with flows reaching about half capacity by September 28 and exports resuming from Yanbu, per Bloomberg. The contract on that pipeline restarting by Oct. 15 now trades at 99.9%.

The nearest markets to this story are the Strait of Hormuz traffic-back-to-normal-by-December contract at 19% and the US-invades-Iran-before-2027 contract at 15%; both still price the region as unsettled.

POLITICS

Midterms Four Weeks Out; Fed Decision Looms Behind Them

The U.S. midterm vote is November 3, 28 days from this morning, and the most liquid election contract on the board is the one on Republicans holding both chambers, with $2.2M in liquidity and $360K traded in 24 hours. Five days earlier than that, the Fed’s October meeting resolves on Oct. 28; Fox Business frames it as a decision that “looms as inflation worries persist.” Kalshi has no change at 80% (−3) and a 25 bp hike at 20% (+3); September CPI above 3.5% is priced at 84% ahead of the Oct. 14 release.

The market on Republicans holding both chambers, “2026 Balance of Power: R Senate, R House,” sits at 9% (up +1 pt in 24h).

Sánchez Contract Posts the Day’s Biggest Politics Drop

Spain’s next-prime-minister market was the sharpest politics move of the past day: the contract on Pedro Sánchez fell 4.5 points to 17.5% on $157K of volume. The contract runs through March 2028, so it is a verdict on the whole cycle rather than a single week. Elsewhere in European politics, France’s 2027 market also shifted, with Marine Le Pen at 42.6% (−2.3) and David Lisnard at 11.3% (+0.8).

Sánchez’s own contract, “Will Pedro Sánchez be the next Prime Minister of Spain?”, sits at 17.5% after a -4.5 pt drop over the past day.

Dodgers-Braves Game 3 Is a Coin Flip

Major League Baseball’s playoffs: the Dodgers and Braves play Game 3 today, first pitch 6 p.m. ET. The Kalshi market is the busiest game contract on the board, with 720,690 contracts traded, 632,892 of them in the past 24 hours. Our sportsbook check found no matched book line for it, so Kalshi’s price is the only one we have. On Polymarket’s Braves–Dodgers game market, the whale SmartPredictOrNot bought Dodgers at 69% in three Sunday-evening clips totaling more than $900K.

Kalshi has tonight’s Game 3 dead even: 50% Los Angeles D / 50% Atlanta.

Brewers-Padres Game 3 Tonight; Padres Priced the Favorite

Major League Baseball’s playoffs also give us Brewers–Padres Game 3 today at 9:30 p.m. ET. It is the second-busiest game market on Kalshi, with 330,347 contracts traded and 282,481 of them in the past 24 hours, and like the early game it has no matched sportsbook line in our check. San Diego is the only favorite either of today’s playoff games offers.

Kalshi prices tonight’s game at 45% Milwaukee against 56% San Diego, so the Padres are moderate favorites.

White Sox-Cleveland Leads Tomorrow’s Board

Major League Baseball’s playoffs continue Wednesday, and the busiest market on tomorrow’s board is Chicago WS against Cleveland at 4 p.m. ET, with 33,989 contracts traded so far. For Wednesday’s game, Kalshi prices Chicago WS at 53% (+4 pts) against Cleveland at 47% (-4 pts).

03 Biggest Movers

US announces an end to the Iranian blockade by Oct. 15 — 13% (−3)

Polymarket · $326K traded in 24 hours

Middle East: the market on whether the United States announces an end to its blockade of Iran by Oct. 15 slipped 3 points over the past day, to 13%, with nine days left. The related markets barely moved. A US invasion of Iran before 2027 sits at 15% (−1), and Strait of Hormuz shipping back to normal by Dec. 31 sits at 19%. Our read: traders expect the standoff to outlast October without escalating into something larger.

Pedro Sánchez is Spain’s next prime minister — 17.5% (−4.5)

Polymarket · $157K traded in 24 hours

Spanish politics: the market on whether Pedro Sánchez is Spain’s next prime minister fell 4.5 points to 17.5% on $157K of volume, the largest drop among the day’s liquid politics contracts. The contract runs through March 2028, so it is a verdict on the whole cycle, not one week. Our read: we have no verified catalyst in our data to pin the move on, and new polling is what moves this price next.

October jobs report: payrolls above 70,000 — 50% (+3); above 80,000 35% (−3)

Kalshi · 11K and 13K contracts in 24 hours

US economy: the October jobs report arrives Nov. 6, and Kalshi’s brackets on it now put the market’s midpoint almost exactly at 70,000 new jobs. The above-70,000 bracket rose 3 points to 50% while the above-80,000 bracket fell 3 to 35%. The above-30,000 bracket held at 68%. Those two moves squeeze the expected number from both sides. Our read: traders expect a soft but positive month and will not commit above 70,000.

Manchester City win the 2026-27 Champions League — 5% (−3)

Polymarket · $151K traded in 24 hours

European soccer: Manchester City to win this season’s Champions League, the continent’s top club competition, dropped 3 points over the past day, from 8% to 5%, with the final still months away. That is a hard revision for a long-dated club price in one day. No public catalyst explains the move.

A recession starting in 2027? The market says 21%.

The longest-dated economics question on the board, and the one we can’t yet price.

Kalshi prices a U.S. recession beginning in 2027 at 21%, unchanged on the day, with 314,177 contracts open; it settles January 31, 2028. The nearer Fed markets lean toward higher rates: an October hike at 20% (+3), a December cut at 2%.

Start with the board around it. The Fed’s October decision resolves Oct. 28: Kalshi has no change at 80% (−3), a 25 bp hike at 20% (+3) and a 25 bp cut at 1%; Polymarket’s mirror of the same decision sits at 81% no change and 20% hike. September CPI, out Oct. 14, is priced above 3.5% at 84% and above 3.6% at 41% (−2). October payrolls, due Nov. 6, sit at 50% to clear 70,000 and 68% to clear 30,000. Read together: a hawkish rates path over sticky inflation and soft but positive hiring.

The one nearer recession number on the board points lower. The contract on a recession starting in 2026 sits at 4% (+1), and December’s cut contract at 2% says traders do not expect the Fed to be easing into weakness by year-end. A one-year-forward price of 21% against a 2026 price of 4% is a market pricing a possibility, not a signal, and we have no model of our own to put against it yet.

What is still missing is any checkable link from the hawkish Fed path to a 2027 downturn. A hike contract and a recession contract are separate bets, and nothing in our data connects them. We’d revisit if the October hike contract and the recession-starts-in-2026 contract (4%) begin moving together after the October 14 CPI release.

Bottom line: No trade. 21% is a price without a case we can check yet.

06 Biggest Trades

The biggest individual trades of the last 24 hours — who put money down, how much, and how it went.

BIG BET EamonnD1812 $218K Crypto policy: Clarity Act (H.R.3633) signed into law in 2026? · Polymarket NO @ 95.2% (sold) On Monday morning EamonnD1812 sold $218K of NO shares at 95.2% on whether the Clarity Act, a bill to regulate crypto markets, becomes law this year. BIG BET Diabolical-Prize $340K NFL: Lions vs. Panthers · Polymarket Panthers @ 34% Bought Carolina at 34% Sunday evening; each $1 pays about $2.94 on a Panthers win. Later Sunday night cosmicxbt sold $104K of Panthers at 92.1%. The market is not on our settled list.
BIG BET ProfessionalPunter $121K Brazil presidential election: Geraldo Alckmin to win · Polymarket NO @ 99.9% Bet Monday that Alckmin would not win. At 99.9% the whole stake earns roughly $120; settlement is pending.
HEAVY VOLUME NFL MVP: Kenneth Walker 736K contracts AP NFL regular-season MVP · Kalshi YES @ 2% The Kenneth Walker MVP contract traded 735,824 times in 24 hours and rose one point, to 2% (+1). Settles Feb. 12.

The Falcons–Saints market drew big money on both sides Monday. raybanman put $293K on the Falcons at 51% against a Saints −1.5 spread Monday afternoon, and BreakTheBank put $157K on a Falcons −10.5 spread at 55% late Monday night.

07 The Longshot

The NFL MVP market is busiest on two running backs priced at 2% apiece

Bijan Robinson and Kenneth Walker each sit at 2% to be named AP MVP. 1.7 million contracts traded on the pair in 24 hours.

The NFL’s AP regular-season Most Valuable Player award settles in February, and the two busiest contracts in Kalshi’s market on it belong to long shots. Running back Bijan Robinson sits at 2% (+1) after 955,458 contracts changed hands in 24 hours. Kenneth Walker, another running back, sits at 2% (+1) on 735,824 contracts in the same window. For comparison, quarterback Dak Prescott at 7% (+2) drew 105,285.

To pay, Robinson or Walker has to be named the Associated Press regular-season MVP — not Offensive Player of the Year, not the rushing champion — when the market settles on February 12. A YES share costs 2% of its $1 payout and pays nothing if anyone else wins. The contract count does not say who was buying: every one of those 955,458 contracts had a buyer and a seller, so it shows activity, not conviction. Our read: the price is an ordinary long shot. The volume is the only strange part. ↗
